Module 2: What is Equity

WHAT IS EQUITY ?

In the last module we explored the intersection of race, poverty and education. We also analyzed inequitable systems that disproportionately impact students, families and communities of color. In Module Two of Defining Us: Children at the Crossroads of Change, we focus on the idea of equity in education, by challenging the presence of “one size fits all” approaches to education through public school funding and student educator interpersonal relationships. We will dive deeper into the personal stories and experiences of students and learn about the educators and programs that create individualized support and successful outcomes.
