EQUITABLE FUNDING & RELATIONSHIPS

Equitable funding to address school communities must be paired with strong student-educator relationships to effectively combat disparities in education. When educators are attuned to students’ needs they may better match resources and advocate for their support. This is even more important due to obstacles like COVID-19. Student-teacher relationships can also support students at the personal level, building their self-esteem and confidence to address the interpersonal effects of racism and poverty. With equity at the forefront, students are afforded opportunities based on their needs and policies are economically and culturally sensitive.
